Stephenson’s novels are about the future, of course, but more than anything, reading them makes you feel like he can see into the future. He writes worlds into existence that many sci-fi lovers like myself know and love, like the ones he created in “Snow Crash” and “Cryptonomicon.” And the futuristic concepts in his books have inspired real world inventions - ideas you might have heard of, like the metaverse and Bitcoin.
